  6.         Grapevine is an Amiga Internet Relay Chat client.  The IRC
  7.     is a worldwide network on which users can participate in realtime
  8.     conversation.  Grapevine is a means by which to communicate over
  9.     this network using an attractive, easy to use graphic interface
  10.     that befits the nature of the Amiga.
  11.         Grapevine supports several methods of communication.  You
  12.     may use one of the TCP/IP stacks:  Commodore's AS225r2 or the
  13.     freely distributable AmiTCP.
  14.         Grapevine also support any serial.device compatible device
  15.     by means of a simple Unix network connection utility and a small
  16.     terminal program to log in and connect to the server, and pass
  17.     control to Grapevine.
  18.  
  19.   PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
  20.  
  21.     - AmigaDOS Release 3 (V39) (Release 2 support in the works)
  22.     - At least 1MB of RAM, 2MB recommended, with 1MB chip RAM
  23.     - Hard drive recommended.
  24.     - TCP/IP networking package optional.
  25.     - A direct (TCP) or indirect (serial login) Internet connection.

  29.     - Over 50 input line commands with online syntax help.
  30.       Modular DCC programs allow users to write their own DCC
  31.     - clients, including games.  DCC file transfer modules included.
  32.     - Supports up to 10 different channel/message windows.
  33.     - Ability to automatically join channels when first connecting
  34.     - Attractive "Style Guide" compliant graphic user interface.
  35.     - Fast scrollback, configurable buffer size.
  36.     - Opens on any public screen.
  37.     - Point-and-click user operations like op, ban, kick, whois.
  38.     - Graphic icon toolbar for common operations.  8-color MagicWB
  39.       style icons are optional.

  41. VERSION  CHANGES / BUGS FIXED since V1.0 release

  43.   1.33 - Dumb mistake in 1.32 disallowed User and Network settings from being
  44.          used.
  45.  
  46.   1.32 - Channel mode windows were all using the same string, so if more
  47.          than one was open they would all display the same title.
  48.  
  49.          The "Toggle Icon Window" menu item was moved to the "Reveal" submenu
  50.          in the "Project" menu.  Also, it now only opens the window or brings
  51.          it to the front, and does not toggle its opened status.
  52.  
  53.          Contents of keyword and user limit string gadgets were not being
  54.          copied when "Use" was selected, so it was necesary to hit return
  55.          before new values were recognized.
  56.  
  57.          Added font settings window.  Fonts can be defined for the screen
  58.          (including gadget labels), the channel text display, the channel
  59.          input gadget, and the channel namelist window.
  60.  
  61.          Fixed a problem with the /KILL command that rendered it useless.
  62.  
  63.          The style of the nickname field in the channel text display window
  64.          was not that for sending a /MSG if QUERY mode was on.
  65.  
  66.          If the text gadget filter was turned on in the system IControl prefs
  67.          inserting a style character would also overwrite the character under
  68.          the cursor with a second style character.
  69.  
  70.    1.1 - /QUERY command implemented for continuous messaging of a single
  71.          user without using "/msg nickname".
  72.  
  73.          If socket.library was successfully opened but socket setup failed,
  74.          selecting "Cancel" in the error requester caused a software failure.
  75.  
  76.          Fixed enforcer hits that happened when "Use" was selected in the
  77.          User and Network settings.
  78.  
  79.          Included a new DCC.Send that is hopefully stable again.  The one
  80.          included in the first Grapevine release was very unreliable.
